What our members are up to:
Sunday was the first ever “Not So Real Wedding” – check out photos from the faux wedding and the Independent Wedding Fair at the Varsity theater on Studio Laguna’s blog and see the “not so real” bride & groom enjoying the traveling photobooth (left). Cocoa & Fig brought some amazing mini chocolate mouse cups, Sweets bakeshop featured amazing french macarons, and Jessica’s cakes had, well, cake!

Local happenings:
Cocoa & Fig’s amazing desserts are showcased in this wedding from Studio 306. Local videographer Forever Films is offering free video, the Knot wedding forum for the twin cities discuss indoor wedding photo locations in Minneapolis and the Inspired Bride discusses the the awesomeness that is macarons.

Other happenings:
Slate offers a photo essay on the pageantry of wedding photography in China. Finally, there is a way to combine your love of owls with your love of cupcakes, and Style me Pretty is offering a seminar on wedding photography for brides.

“Meet the Members” features the amazing wedding professionals that will be showcasing their craft at the November 14 event! Krista and Ly of Sweets Bakeshop will have an amazing array of delicacies to feast your eyes and stomach! Make sure you see them at the November 14 Independent Wedding Fair!

Why weddings? Why not? our pretty and delicious cupcakes, cakes and macarons are a perfect match for such a joyful event.

What should people know about what you do? We use local ingredients and bake fresh daily.

What new wedding tradition do you want to get more love? the DIY favor making

How does your style differentiate you? What sets you apart? Besides using local vendors and baking fresh daily, our elegant style is timeless and the cupcakes and macarons are DELICIOUS!

What do you wish you had known when you started working with weddings? To take the time and develop an intake form that covers ALL the particulars and then some.

Are your clients mostly from Minnesota? We’ve been operating for almost 1 year, and most have been local, but our national recognition is growing.

What are brides and grooms going to see from you at the November event? Cupcakes, macarons and stylish, pretty ideas for decorating a table.

I use local ingredients and enjoy working with each couple to come up with unique and personalized desserts that represent the couple. I love creating innovative flavor combinations, but have an appreciation for the classics as well. In addition to cupcakes and French macaroons, I also do dessert buffets with a variety of bite sized desserts options.
