Joynoelle is the signature line of Minneapolis-based designer, Joy Teiken. The Joynoelle Ready-to-Wear and Bridal Collections are handmade and hand-finished in her South Minneapolis atelier. Every garment is individually cut, sewn and accented to ensure the highest of quality and attention to detail that Joy expects. This award-winning designer has been featured in many national and international publications including WWD, Real Simple Magazine, and Daily Candy NYC and has been shown on the runway in New York City, Chicago, and LA .

Watching it go from a piece of fabric to the draping and sketching to the fittings and the final gown is a special experience. I have many brides come back to me after their wedding and tell me having their dress made was the second best part of getting married (the first being marrying the love of their life). I love working with brides. Each one is special and wants their personality to show through in their dress. Having a dress designed and made for them is the perfect way to accomplish this. My brides are part of the design process and since I make the dress on their body through draping techniques and fittings, the dress fits their body and personality perfectly. I often suggest bringing in personal objects (their mother’s wedding dress, their grandmother’s beaded necklace, or their auntie’s lace) to incorporate into their dress to make it even more special. I have one seamstress and we work very closely together with the client. As the designer, I am in charge of the dress and client from start to finish. I do all the draping, cutting of the fabric, and the fittings. I may bring in extra craftspeople for things like beading and fabric dying but everything is done in my atelier. My seamstress and I work on sewing the dress together and she is part of certain fittings and finishing work.

Spruce Flowers & Home in South Minneapolis offers a beautiful combination of neighborhood shop and “Flower Bar” design center.

Our main focus is helping our clients create the wedding of their dreams by thinking and working creatively to also meet their budget requirements. We meet with our brides at our exclusive “Flower Bar” where we listen to their ideas for their wedding, look at design elements they have already selected or inspiration they’ve collected to create a mood board for floral development. With our walk-in cooler full of colors, textures and uncommon varieties of flowers, we can immediately start talking about ideas.

It’s important to me to have the ability to create. It’s an essential part of my life. Being a florist allows me to interact with brides and grooms to help them realize the vision they crave for their wedding day. As well as creating dynamic floral, I am also hired to help with planning the overall design aesthetic, color palette coordination and to assist in the integration the couple’s personal details in a fresh, inventive, flawless way.
By booking a limited amount of events per week, I am able to give personal attention to each and every client. I don’t offer a daily floral delivery service and do not run a retail storefront. This gives me time to focus on what I do best: creating beautiful floral for my wedding clients.

We are creating a space specifically for creative, intimate weddings. We offer something that very few venues offer in the state–exclusive access to the property for an entire weekend to enjoy your family and friends and take time to enjoy your wedding weekend. Our cost includes the value of this included vacation stay for up to 14 people and the access to vintage and antique items. We have built this love of the artistry of weddings into every detail. For example, instead of folding banquet tables we built wooden harvest tables and instead of the usual white wedding chairs we collected antique wooden pews and folding chairs.

The fact that we are a small, individual-owned business in a sector of the wedding industry that is often faceless allows us to connect to clients in a way that just isn’t possible with many other venues.

We are also a gay-owned operation that understands the language of gay marriage and that believes that practicing same-sex marriage is AS important as fighting for it. We believe that marriage equality is good for the local wedding economy and we are proud to part of a community of vendors who also feel this way even though it isn’t a directly personal matter to them.

We have touched every part of our 40 acres and remodeled both the house and the cabin on the property ourselves and planted countless plants for the landscaping. We are so close to the product that is our venue that I am almost always covered in some sort of something or another, whether it be paint or dirt or sand from laying down our stone aisle. We literally do everything ourselves that we can and I communicate with each of the interested parties.

Lime Canary is a vintage rental company specializing in the rental of antique props and décor for weddings, events, photo shoots, theater, staging, and anything else you can dream up. Our crew scours the countryside far and wide to find the most unique pieces that are full of character and charm. Our rentals are one of a kind and will add that special touch to make your event perfectly you!

I have a diversified inventory of vintage furniture and accessories and do custom searches for individuals with specific needs. I also offer styling services for the vintage pieces I rent. The American Swedish Institute, located in a turn of the century mansion in Minneapolis, is known as a place to learn about Nordic culture, and the role of Swedish and other immigrants in Minnesota’s history. It also houses a multitude of ways to celebrate your wedding and, with their new expansion, will offer wedding venues that will showcase Minneapolis in a whole new light. The mansion has the the stained glass and decadent architecture you would expect from a perfectly maintained old home, and is perfect for smaller weddings and social gatherings. The new Nelson Cultural Center (set for completion in 2012) will offer a modern edge with lots of windows and outdoor space.

Munster Rose is a Minneapolis based floral studio specializing in wedding work and corporate events.

A St. Paul-based floral design studio that has an eye for combining texture and color with European inspiration to create floral designs with an effortless elegance. Tara, the floral artist and owner of A Day in Provence, was charmed by her time living and traveling in Europe, and she brings unique, uncommonly seen flowers to share with her brides and clients.

Being an independent vendor, I have the benefit of managing the number of weddings I design each year. I focus on quality, not quantity, and this allows me the time to provide extra personal touches. It is not uncommon for me to spend extra time browsing stores for the perfect milk glass compote, french ribbon, or fabric to bring the complete look together.
