Annika Bowers - January 24, 2012 - 5:46 am

Hello!
I am entering this contest to win the dessert table for my best friend who is getting married this summer. I am honored to have been her friend for over twenty year (a feat when you’re not even yet thirty!) and also serve as her Maid of Honor. She is getting married to a wonderful man and they deserve all the best!
I love a wedding that takes food to the center stage. It shows when couples really think about the style of food and how that will shape the evening. For example, having different kinds of cakes on different tables allows guests to mingle and make new friends in procuring a slice if their favorite cake!
Thanks!
Annika Bowers

Diana - January 24, 2012 - 7:02 am

I work in the Wells Fargo Center. Cocoa and Fig is such a temptation. I love the macaroons!! We would love to have Cocoa and Fig as part of our wedding!

Sarah McMahon - January 24, 2012 - 7:03 am

This looks so yummy! Perfect for my sister’s wedding!

Darin Ringuette - January 24, 2012 - 7:04 am

What a great table! This would be awesome to have at our wedding.

Kara Snow - January 24, 2012 - 7:12 am

Your macaroons are the best! I would love to have them at my wedding!

Ellen - January 24, 2012 - 7:43 am

Ny brother and his fiancée are planning their wedding for October and something like this would be the perfect addition to the look of their wedding! I’ve been surfing these sites so I can help out in any way possible and now I’m glad for it!

kristin - January 24, 2012 - 8:00 am

I love weddings where the food really reflects the bride and groom. A family recipe, a nod to their heritage, anything that’s special!

Heloise Ngo - January 24, 2012 - 8:12 am

The dessert table reminds me of Paris – all the decadence of perfect little sweets that entice the palate. It’s like window shopping at all those wonderful bakeries. My favorite wedding food recommendation would be cupcakes…I love the tiered cupcakes that look like a mini wedding cake!

Matt - January 24, 2012 - 8:14 am

Wedding food is so tough–it largely depends on the size of the wedding because serving a couple dozen is a much different task than feeding a couple hundred.

Cara Braden - January 24, 2012 - 8:24 am

I love the idea of mini desserts! Everything is cuter when its mini….mini cream puffs, mini fruit tarts, mini pies….the possibilities are endless!!

Sylvie - January 24, 2012 - 8:49 am

I would loooooooove to win this for my wedding! Perfect timing! Instead of traditional wedding food, my fiance and I have decided on gourmet sandwiches, either from a local beloved deli or a local restaurant. Still can’t decide on which. We’re also having our reception at noon on a saturday, so the food is very appropriate. I think it’s an affordable and delish choice for any wedding.

Kathy Henderson - January 24, 2012 - 9:07 am

My daughter is getting married in Minneapolis this year, on a limited budget. She is one of the finest “foodies” around, and I would love to be able to assist her with this WONDERFUL prize!!!

I think wedding foods that feature smaller “bite size” tastes are the BEST! Gives the guests opportunity to sample many diverse flavors and varieties – and a lot less possibility of mess!

[...] enter, go to IN(DY)SPIRE’s website and leave a comment on their contest post — one random commenter will be chosen to win on Feb. 6, [...]

Jackie - January 24, 2012 - 9:20 am

Joe and Laurie!!!! This is AMAZING! Some couple will be extremely lucky to have you (for free)!

sLua - January 24, 2012 - 9:28 am

Love your desserts – would be fabulous to win this prize! A favorite food idea from a recent wedding I attended was a round table full of help yourself hors d’oeuvres of gourmet style spreads, dips, rustic crackers and breads.

Linda N - January 24, 2012 - 9:30 am

what a great display!! and an even better opportunity! i’m entering for my friend where i’m serving as one of her mohs. thank you Cocoa & Fig!!

Liz O - January 24, 2012 - 9:38 am

Cocoa and Fig has absolutely the best treats ever! My favorite is the caramel salted chocolate cupcake. Entering for my friend Jessica who is soon having her first child and getting married this summer!

jennifer - January 24, 2012 - 9:49 am

I would be thrilled to have the opportunity to show off one of the most wonderful bakeries in Minnesota to impress the out-of-state guests (and that’s everyone!) coming to my wedding. We’re already planning a MN-centric wedding, and the dessert options in our budget range seem a bit limited, so having a variety of treats designed just for us would be fantastic. I love the look of this spread, too, but can’t help imagining the little frosting touches in blue and silver instead of orange. Absolutely adorable!

Britt - January 24, 2012 - 9:56 am

Cocoa & Fig is absolutely AMAZING!! I love your rice krispie bars …. just something about them is so unique and yummy!! I would love the opportunity to have or give this dessert table to someone!!!

Molly - January 24, 2012 - 9:56 am

I’m especially loving the macarons because they’re naturally gluten-free… And the beautiful colors help, too!

Jenna - January 24, 2012 - 10:10 am

I love your cake pops and cupcakes. Your creations would look awesome at my wedding! :)

Cindy - January 24, 2012 - 10:10 am

What an amazing wedding gift this dessert table would be! Serving Cocoa & Fig to my guests would be an absolute dream come true. I’m completely obsessed with your French macarons and can only imagine everything you create is equally as scrumptious!

Nina - January 24, 2012 - 10:19 am

I am madly in love with Cocoa & Fig’s delectable confections. Now that I don’t work downtown anymore, it’s a rare treat when I get to savor one of their desserts (my fiancé always knows Cocoa & Fig is the perfect treat to cheer me up!)–my go-to favorite is the black velvet cake pops. So. Delicious. At the last Independent Wedding Fair, I was blown away with their s’mores. They are the perfect addition to their already-tasty dessert offerings. I would absolutely love to showcase a not only delicious, but beautiful Cocoa & Fig spread at my wedding reception this fall–it would be the perfect way to spoil my guests :)

Jennie - January 24, 2012 - 10:26 am

My best friend introduced me to Cocoa & Fig by bringing me treats from you whenever I needed something to cheer me up, or as a congratulations gift. You are the best! I am getting married this summer and I would love to introduce them to Cocoa and Fig as well!

For my favorite wedding food recommendations? My dream would be a build your own Mac N Cheese bar with lots of toppings, but I would have to do a darn good selling job to convince my fiance;)

Nick Olson - January 24, 2012 - 10:45 am

What a beautiful table you presented up there! We would be ever so honored to have you guys at our wedding.

Brittany Bonine - January 24, 2012 - 10:47 am

You present a very inspired tablescape and everything there sounds so wonderful! Our wedding is March 16th and it would be such a treat to spend it with you guys

Michelle Thum - January 24, 2012 - 11:12 am

I love Cocoa & Fig’s attention to detail! All the items mesh together and the detail! Perfect! :) I personally love anything mini!

Jessica Berzowski - January 24, 2012 - 11:25 am

My fiancee and I were engaged a month ago while on a vacation in Ireland. Our planning is in the very early stages and seeing these pictures took my breath away. The photos are absolutely beautiful! We are each working two jobs to pay for the wedding and something like this would help put the finishing touches on our special day.

Allison McMahon - January 24, 2012 - 11:26 am

I am obsessed with mini food and would LOVE to get to work with Cocoa and Fig! Our wedding is on lake minnetonka this fall and I know they would help make it extra special.

Max Spector - January 24, 2012 - 11:30 am

Winning this would make my fiance so happy! She loves Cocoa and Fig!!

Maureen Perryman - January 24, 2012 - 11:36 am

This would be magical and perfect for our summer wedding, a true dream come true :)

Ali - January 24, 2012 - 11:54 am

Anyone would be lucky to have such a beautiful display at their wedding. Almost too pretty to eat!

leslie - January 24, 2012 - 12:48 pm

I would love to win this for my friend who is having a wedding in October. It would be such a great surprise. I have beent o weddings before with Cocoa & fig desserts and they do an AMAZING job!

Meg Colvin - January 24, 2012 - 12:54 pm

When my fiance and I began talking about what we wanted in our wedding celebration, the first thing we both said was “there have to be desserts and they have to be awesome!”

Cocoa & Fig would fit perfectly into what we’re looking to have at our wedding – an emphasis on made from scratch “yumminess” and style. How could anyone turn down something as cute and yummy as their Valrhona chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting! Delish!

Allie Campbell - January 24, 2012 - 1:01 pm

Hi! I would love to have Cocoa & Fig at our wedding at TCF Stadium in October. Miniature desserts is exactly what we were thinking about doing :) Thanks for the opportunity!

Cara - January 24, 2012 - 1:09 pm

Cocoa & Fig lovingly bakes a world of flavor into every (bite-sized) morsel. Any wedding would benefit from their sweet and stylish French macaroons, and who wouldn’t want to add a “cake pop” of color to the dessert table?

Allie Jane - January 24, 2012 - 1:30 pm

I LOVE Cocoa and Fig!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE them!! It would be so amazing to be able to provide all of our out-of-town guests with some of Minnesota’s most delicious treats!!

allie - January 24, 2012 - 1:48 pm

Cocoa & Fig’s #1 fan right here!! They are UNBELIEVABLE and I wouldn’t consider anyone else for my wedding in November!

Stacie - January 24, 2012 - 2:17 pm

What an absolutely amazing way to celebrate the big day than by having such a beautiful, lavish, and creative dessert spread. Favorite wedding food is the cake. I judge the success of a marriage by the quality of the cake served. Okay, not really…but a fine piece of wedding cake is hard to beat!

Brittany - January 24, 2012 - 2:18 pm

I would ADORE to have Cocoa & Fig at my wedding this summer!
Beautiful and delicious!

Alison M - January 24, 2012 - 2:22 pm

Cocoa and Fig would be amazing for my wedding this fall! Everything looks so amazing!

Aaron - January 24, 2012 - 2:24 pm

Would love to be able to win this for my sister-in-law, in no small part because I’d get to eat some of it.

Sara - January 24, 2012 - 2:29 pm

A wedding food Haiku:

A little sweet bite
For my wedding day delight
Makes a perfect night

:)

Raina - January 24, 2012 - 3:19 pm

I have such a sweet tooth, so a gorgeous dessert table like this would be a perfect addition to our wedding!

Jess Stewart - January 24, 2012 - 4:46 pm

I’ve wanted to be in the ‘I Love Lucy’ chocolate episode since I was a kid!

This would be my moment to live a sweets dream w/ Cocoa & Fig at my September wedding at the St. Paul Hotel!!!!

Heather Euteneuer - January 24, 2012 - 4:48 pm

I am getting married in September and would LOVE a desert table! I have such a sweet tooth and would eat sweets all day if I could. I am also a wedding photographer so I have had my share of wedding food. My favorite for deserts are cupcakes and some kind of fruit desert :) Buffets aren’t my favorite but it is good for the guests to have a selection on what they eat. Plated dinners are great for feeding the guests fast and its a little more professional. My favorite wedding dinner is wallet its so tasty and is usually loved by all :)

jumi - January 24, 2012 - 5:09 pm

Pick me! Dessert tables should always involve something chocolate!

Sheena - January 24, 2012 - 6:04 pm

I would love to have a dessert table from Cocoa & Fig! My fiance and I had their homemade smores at an event and they were amazing.

bkmn - January 24, 2012 - 8:11 pm

My partner and I have face the fact that we can’t get married in this state, in spite of the fact that we have been together for more than 10 years. We devote ourselves to each other, but the law screws us over because we are both men.

Anne - January 24, 2012 - 8:42 pm

I work in the Wells Fargo Center and love Cocoa & Fig. We’d love to have this at our Sept 2012 wedding!

zac - January 24, 2012 - 9:04 pm

Can I spread this 1,000 out over the course of one year?

Grace - January 25, 2012 - 12:02 am

I have always dreamed of having a dessert table at my wedding! I had the pleasure of enjoying smore’s from Cocoa & Fig at an in(dy)spire wedding fair this fall. Since then that is all I can think of! Hope my dream comes true :) And I will see you at the next event in February.

Shawn B - January 25, 2012 - 7:14 am

I love a wide array of flavors when it comes to cake; I know this will taste delicious and I would love to have it at my wedding this September, I want to give my fiance the wedding of her dreams, this cake will help.

Jen Bartholmey - January 25, 2012 - 7:17 am

This would be such a wonderful addition to our wedding reception! My fiance and I are getting married on June 16, outside. It will be like a big summer party!

Lisa N - January 25, 2012 - 8:20 am

I am getting married this fall and would love a custom designed dessert table! We decided to forgo the average steak or fish catered meal and go with the Vietnamese reception route (I’m Vietnamese) so we’ll be doing 5 courses, served family style of various delicious Vietnamese dishes :) I can’t wait!

Krista D. - January 25, 2012 - 8:28 am

Wow! What an amazing contest! I am obsessed with your Macarons. I work downtown and have to force myself not to stop by EVERY day! I would love to feature your table at my wedding!

Jen N. - January 25, 2012 - 9:31 am

We are having a local chef create a Thai meal at our wedding this summer! We chose this style of cuisine because it is our favorite and we want to share it with all of our guests. Hopefully we will have time to enjoy it too–I have heard that it is hard to find time to eat at your own wedding reception. We have not planned our dessert table yet, so winning this contest would be AMAZING!

Kit - January 25, 2012 - 9:39 am

Super fancy! I want to go to there.

Amanda - January 25, 2012 - 9:46 am

Hoping to win this for my best girlfriend of 15+ years! Her wedding is in August of 2012! :)

My wedding is this fall and I have been looking to do miniature desserts. My fiance really wants to have an exciting dessert table and I’ve been doing some research on how to do that for her but at the same time, keep it within our budget. This would be an amazing way to deliver that for her and would obviously be in our budget :)

Trisha - January 25, 2012 - 3:16 pm

This is the last major item to check off on our to do list- desserts!

Simply beautiful! Fine art employed through decadent dessert. And did I see macaroons are gluten free? So thrilled.

Pucker - January 26, 2012 - 10:00 am

I love small bites. Deviled eggs (small ones) for savory and Cocoa & Fig desserts for the sweet.

C. Bursch - January 26, 2012 - 2:43 pm

I have always dreamed of having a dessert table at my wedding! However due to financial obligations we are not sure we can afford to have such a thing.
This would be my moment to live a sweets dream w/ Cocoa & Fig at my 2012 August wedding. : )

Patricia Sked - January 26, 2012 - 3:41 pm

This would be so wonderful for my granddaughters wedding on June 9, 2012. They have a lot planned but this would be such a relief to them to win this as they have not been able to decide on desserts.

Randi W. - January 26, 2012 - 4:45 pm

Geoff Daniel - January 27, 2012 - 12:47 pm

At our September wedding, my future wife and I want to really “treat” our guests to a great celebration…and what’s a celebration without fantastic desserts!

We got engaged in Charleston, SC so paying homage to our southern engagement with Cocoa & Fig’s “Key Lime Pie” and “Southern Banana Pudding” shooters would be great especially when paired with a glass of celebratory champagne!

Joynoelle is the signature line of Minneapolis-based designer, Joy Teiken. The Joynoelle Ready-to-Wear and Bridal Collections are handmade and hand-finished in her South Minneapolis atelier. Every garment is individually cut, sewn and accented to ensure the highest of quality and attention to detail that Joy expects. This award-winning designer has been featured in many national and international publications including WWD, Real Simple Magazine, and Daily Candy NYC and has been shown on the runway in New York City, Chicago, and LA .

My clients choose Joynoelle not only for the outcome but for the process. Having a dress made is a fun. Watching it go from a piece of fabric to the draping and sketching to the fittings and the final gown is a special experience. I have many brides come back to me after their wedding and tell me having their dress made was the second best part of getting married (the first being marrying the love of their life). I love working with brides. Each one is special and wants their personality to show through in their dress. Having a dress designed and made for them is the perfect way to accomplish this. My brides are part of the design process and since I make the dress on their body through draping techniques and fittings, the dress fits their body and personality perfectly. I often suggest bringing in personal objects (their mother’s wedding dress, their grandmother’s beaded necklace, or their auntie’s lace) to incorporate into their dress to make it even more special. I have one seamstress and we work very closely together with the client. As the designer, I am in charge of the dress and client from start to finish. I do all the draping, cutting of the fabric, and the fittings. I may bring in extra craftspeople for things like beading and fabric dying but everything is done in my atelier. My seamstress and I work on sewing the dress together and she is part of certain fittings and finishing work.
